Woodland Ferns ~ Flint Woods Preserve

Flint Woods Preserve is an old-growth forest with over a dozen species of ferns growing on-site. Take an enjoyable evening stroll through the woodlands to learn about fern identification, see a variety of species, and appreciate the habitats where they grow. Listen to the evening chorus of birds which will include Wood Thrush, Veery, Ovenbirds, and other interior forest species. Take a peek into a restored wildlflower meadow to see what's blooming and growing there as well. Flint Woods is one of the most beautiful and biodiverse natural areas within the Delaware Piedmont where you are sure to enjoy a nice summer evening. Led by Joe Sebastiani.
