Join Habitat Outreach Manager Kerry Wilson and homeowners Alex and Liz Jordan to discuss how they reimagined their front yard once they were advised to take down 3 large canopy trees that had been on the property for 80 years.  The owners value trees and the shade they provide and have been adding more natives to their property in recent years to support wildlife while adding more seasonal blooms. Learn how they removed invasive plants, prepped the new garden beds, and selected native trees and shrubs to anchor the gardens and herbaceous plants to fill in the empty spaces.  We will also discuss other aspects of the property such as stabilizing the creek bed that runs parallel to their property, invasives species control and the flooding events they consider as they manage their land.
