Shorebirds and Horseshoe Crabs Along Delaware Bay ~ Ashland Nature Center
Witness perhaps the greatest natural spectacle on the Delaware Bay...Horseshoe Crab Spawning and shorebird migration. Delaware Bay is a globally important stopover for shorebirds, and Horseshoe Crabs are the feast that fuels their migration to the Arctic. See perhaps 15 species of shorebirds as well as other birds of the bay including herons, terns, gulls, raptors and others. This trip is timed to arrive prior to high tide and depart after, allowing excellent chances for viewing shorebirds and Horseshoe Crabs. Bring food and drinks for lunch and dinner or purchase it at Wawa/Royal Farms rest stops en route. Led by Jim White and Jeffrey Gordon. Van transportation is included.
