Eco Overnight: Poplar Island and Maryland's Eastern Shore ~ Ashland Nature Center

Thursday October 10

8:00 AM  –  5:00 PM

Thursday, Oct. 10 to Friday, October 11

Visit Chesapeake Country with Matt Babbitt and Joe Sebastiani from the Delaware Nature Society during the gorgeous fall season.  Travel to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and Harriet Tubman National Historic Site on our first day to see wetland birds, Bald Eagles, and Delmarva Fox Squirrel...and learn some history of the area at the Tubman site.  Spend the night at the historic and hospitable Tidewater Inn in Easton.  Enjoy happy hour and dinner at the hotel restarunt.  On day two, venture to Poplar Island by boat for a tour of this 2-mile long, island made of Chesapeake Bay dredge spoils, recreating the island that disappeared years ago due to erosion.  This is now a bird paradise and an engineering wonder you must see.  Lodging, transport, and lunch on day 2 is included.
